Step into an alternate 1960s where the Nazis reign supreme, uncovering a reality where history has been reshaped by a familiar but twisted enemy, adding layers of intrigue to your quest. Infiltrate hidden research compounds and heavily guarded weapon caches to bolster your arsenal, then engage in high-stakes first-person combat against imposing foes like oversized Nazi robots, Super Soldiers, and elite shock troops. Reviews Wolfenstein: The New Order doesn’t reinvent the franchise or give us anything particularly innovative. Yet what it does do is excel at giving us a deep shooter experience unlike we have seen on the Xbox One to date. This visually remarkable game features memorable characters, a terrific soundtrack and frantically entertaining gameplay. Wolfenstein: The New Order is hard to put down and for good reason – it simply kicks ass. COGconnected The intriguing setting and well-crafted story completely drew me into the game, and I enjoyed facing off against the secret weapons brought to life by the diabolical minds of Nazi scientists like robotic dogs, towering walkers, and cyborg mechs. Gamers’ Temple The gameplay is varied, with a combination of decent stealth and very solid gunplay. The levels may sport drab colors, but the variety in location and inclusion of secrets in the level design make up for that. The story works well in a series that’s not really known for telling a good narrative, and the dual pathways mean that an already long campaign is made longer for almost all the right reasons.
