Mechanical creatures from another planet have expelled humanity from the Earth. The human resistance deploys a squad of android troops to destroy the invaders in a last-ditch bid to retake the planet. Currently, a conflict between robots and androids is raging. A conflict that could soon reveal a long-forgotten truth about the universe.   On a variety of open field areas, players will alternate between using melee and ranged techniques to combat swarms of monsters and difficult bosses. Without any area loading, the game effortlessly connects eerily stunning sights and settings. In addition to the main plot, the settings feature a multitude of side-events and are drawn at 60 frames per second. In NieR: Automata, the androids 2B, 9S, and A2 engage in a fierce struggle to regain a dystopia driven by machines that has been invaded by formidable weapons known as machine lifeforms. Players may customize their loadout to suit their playstyle, acquire a variety of weapon kinds, advance in battle, learn new combat techniques, and level up. Pods provide manual and lock-on assault options for the adversary. “Auto Mode” is an option available to beginners for simple assaults and evasions.
