Day of Defeat: Source is a multiplayer first-person shooter game developed and released by Valve in 2005. Gameplay
This World War 2 game features intense team play with up to thirty-two players on one map. Play as one of the loyal soldiers and go on a mission to support your faction! The battle divides into two opposing groups: the Allies and the Germans. Join one of them and enjoy historically inspired weapons! Play two main game modes: detonation and territorial control. The first one features placing explosives on the map to progressively destroy the most crucial zones of the enemy's defense. And the territorial control game mode is all about taking over the points that ensure victory for your team.
The game offers six different classes: Sniper, Rifleman, Rocket, Assault, Machine Gunner, and Support. Each has unique skills and equipment necessary for team cooperation. They can also use weapons like guns, combat knives, several types of grenades, or machine guns. What's more, the guns behave very realistically in this game. Some rifles require skillful handling and shooting demands some aiming skills.
In Day of Defeat Source, you will discover nine maps showing fictional and historical events from the Second World War. Each of them will instantly throw you into entirely different environments. While the first four maps are from Valve, five additional player-created locations came to life later with the enthusiastic support of the developers. The title runs on the Source engine, which introduces significant improvements to the appearance of the environment and combat physics. So you can be sure it will be an authentic experience! However, DoD:S does not deliver a single-player campaign, so it is definitely a game for dedicated fans of multiplayer competition and cooperation.
